Top 3 ‘political weddings’ in Ghana; Sammy Gyamfi exclusive

Sammy Gyamfi and Irene Amankwaa Karikari’s wedding reminds us that despite the display of animosity, love can be found in unexpected places like a political camp.
The political terrain can be a bit tough as opponents and, sometimes, team players have to go into the gutter to settle scores. But in the same breath, something as beautiful as love sprouts tenderly, such as in these NPP/NDC weddings in Ghana.
In April 2021, Kwaw Blay, son of the former NPP National Chairman, married Jasmine, Former Attorney General (NDC) Betty Mould Iddrisu’s niece.

Chief Hamilton Biney, the Deputy National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), also tied the knot with NPP’s Afia Akoto in February 2022.

Earlier this month, two Volta Regional executives of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) joined households. Volta Regional NPP Secretary, Pope Yao Yevoo, married his longtime girlfriend, Deputy Women’s Organiser Lebene Cate Gbeti.

Sammy Gyamfi and his wife, Irene Amankwaa Karikari, belong to the same political party, National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
