Court remands chief, brother who engaged in galamsey in compound house and bedroom

The Sehwi Magistrate Court presided over by his Worship Lawrence Buenor Bue has remanded the chief of Sehwi Ellubo Nana Anim Baffour and his brother Kwadwo Affi into one week police custody for engaging in illegal mining.

Nana Anim Baffour and his brother Kwadwo Affi were arrested following a police investigation into a viral video on social media implicating the chief and his brother as accomplices in galamsey activities outside and inside their home.

They were arrested Friday, September 16, 2022, at Sehwi Ellubo.

The two suspects have been charged with two counts; Conspiracy to commit a crime to wit mining and Mining without a license as reported by Freelancer Emmanuel Sowah.

They have been remanded and are to reappear before the court on September 26, 2022.
